Sushri. Shobha Karandlaje,highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, job creation, and fostering innovation.

Sushri. Shobha Karandlaje, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, commended FKCCI for organizing the Export Excellence Awards-2024 to recognize and honor exporters across Karnataka, particularly focusing on MSMEs.

In her address, she highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, job creation, and fostering innovation. Highlighting that MSMEs are the second largest employment sector after agriculture, she noted they provide 80% of industry jobs with only 20% of investment. MSMEs contribute approximately 31% to the nation’s GDP, account for 45% of exports, and comprise 34% of manufacturing output.

Addressing the need for skilled labour, she announced plans to collaborate with NSIC to establish a South-based skill center in Bangalore. She emphasized the importance of extending Bangalore-centric industries to tier-II and tier-III cities to promote balanced regional development.

She promised support for FKCCI’s Skill Development initiatives in the Dabaspet Industrial area and congratulated the Export Excellence Awardees, encouraging them to inspire others to enter business, thereby generating more employment opportunities.
